No its not mine, nor do I have anything to do with the people who are selling it. (Thanks to RPW for the link) (edited message) Since I posted this message on here I found out the car is still owned by our own jonnycola. Johnny came to the conclusion its better to sell this car which he loved so much ever since he bought it. Due to surcomstances beyond his controle the car has found some more surface rust. My first post was a rather negative post concerning the seller (I did not know it was Johnny at that time) All I saw was a wonderful custom car that had deteriorated since the last time it was for sale. Now I know better and I know that Johnny is selling the car out of respect. He believes he can not do the proper restoration the car needs and therefore is letting go of the car he has put so much love and effort in. Collecting parts and history. As a custom car enthusiast I can only admire his descision to sell. And hopefully (but knowing johnny's enthusiasm he will find the right buyer) it will go to a person who will do it right. (end of edited message) There are not to many original Valley Custom cars left, and this one has been published in a few magazine, so it is of a certain amount of Custom Car historic importance. The car is currently for sale on ebay, and if any of you custom car enthusiast know sombody who has intrest in this old custom, or perhaps any of the Hambers.... Take a look at this wel do***end custom. Here is the link to the ebay Auction 1952 Lincoln Capri by Valley Customs This is how it looks today Well do***ented...
I'd like to know what happened to make it turn to **** in only 2 years. Maybe it was stored in Lake Michigan? Lot of history do***ented. Stu
I feel like even if I could buy the car, I don't think that I could spend the money to bring it back it's former glory. I hope someone willing ends up with this car because, it's pretty slick looking.
luckily enough it is still very, VERY solid... seems like this one will be saved, and man is it ever worth it!!!! ps - and it looks like it comes with 2 parts cars, a convert and a hardtop... really, there are 80+ pics on the auction, and it doesnt look that bad guys, looks like mostly surface rust
that is a realy nice and neat car. Nice piece of hot rodding and kustomization history. Would realy be sad to have this think either rust away or get crushed or street rodded. Something like this should be restored to origional kustom condition and driven.
Thanks Todd No Question about it, If Mr Cola thinks I'm a good Home. It "WILL" be restored to its Valley Custom Glory! No Ifs, Ands, or ****s FRITZ
Selling that car is one of the hardest things I've ever done. It's a once in a lifetime chance... It really breaks my heart That car deserves the highest quality restoration, and that's something that I can't do right now in my life, so thats why it's for sale. I gathered all the parts that it needs to be restored, and it should be relatively easy for the guy who ends up with it. I love that car. I love it enough to know that I need to sell it to someone who will finish it.
Cletus / Todd,... Well we all know big bucks Usually win, and that ****s. I may not be rich enough to to bully someone on ebay But I'm the richest guy in the world when it comes to the time & talent it takes to do a car like that right! I guess we'll see if there really is a Custom god or not. I hope Rat Fink is casting his finky hallo glow my way. FRITZ
I love that car.. really digging the white version. Fritz, you intend to keep the radiused wheel wells? I think I prefer them to the earlier version. I think that is the best Valley Custom car I've seen. Even better than the Polynesian, which I think is a top-10 car.
You can't do gold, man... I was planning to use that. It is spectacular in that first shot, no doubt.
Damn, that is an incredible car...definately deserves to be brought back to it's former glory! Good luck to the seller and the winner!
I haven't seen it before, and I like it! Very well proportioned. The extended quarters add to the look in a way I couldn't have imagined. Fritz is the man for the job. Good luck you Moldy Master of Mobileing.
WOW!! what an outstanding piece of kustom history..... and all that do***entation,,,,,just amazing..really..... how cool is it to see the bills from valley custom and the engine shop,,,, this has to be one of the coolest posts i've read here in a long time,,, the car is simply amazing,,i LOVE it,,,,, hope a hamber gets it so we get to see progress reports....
