I was just wondering if anyone knew of any Welding and Metal Fabrication schools, classes or workshops in California, any information would be a huge help. I'm getting started on my '29 roadster project and have quickly realized that I still have a few things to learn. Thanks Guys

check your local community colleges or vocational schools. Both should offer welding courses...

See if Ron Covell is still giving classes. Get on his mailing list.

  5. Call your welding gass vender. Here in KC, the bigger one is Kirk Welding Supply. Ask them to refer you to a welding inspector. Give him a call & ask him about apprenticeship. That's how I got into it. The schools will charge $1500 & up & all you get is a certificate of completion, but your still not certified with AWS. A welding inspector can give you personalized instruction & when your ready, he can start giving you test procedures. You get cert'd by AWS this way & probly a lot cheaper than school & better instruction too. Carl Hagan

Local high schools sometimes have ROP Autoshop and Welding classes(Colton High School had'em)..But if you want to get an education, job placement as a fabricator/welder,and valuable experience, check out No Limit in San Bernardino...People have flamed thier students truck project, but truth be told, the fabrication on all of it is amazing..The class last for 6 months and have guarenteed results..

i went to "the fab school" in riverside. Its a great course. Teaches you alot, even tho they specialize in off road racing the fabrication asspect is all the same no matter what you want to build. Check out there website.
