Last weekend our annual Cherry Festival car show was held. Typically the show is pretty weak but this year some new iron showed up. The first is Kieth Ashley's Barris Chevy. He is the owner of "Real hot rods" the modified kit which Rod & Custom has featured as a build in thier last couple of issues: next is a nice 50 Ford Kustom a 37 Ford and a killer grill These were all local cars and witht he exception of the Barris I had not seen them!
That color combo on the Barris rde is alright. The severe chop give's that delivery the sinister look. Thank's for the pic's.
why does it look like that 50 Ford has rear bumpers on teh front??? love the Barris car and that BBQ grill ROCKS!!! see ya next saturday BRETT...
That BBQ is both really cool, and really damn gay at the same time... Good for a chuckle, but a waste of TIME, parts, and flake. Sorry, just really felt the need to inject my 2 cents... I hope to be able to afford such frivolity some day and be able to see it differently.
First of all: Keith Ashley´s car is wonderful! I´m right now into doing a magazine feature of the mentioned car and I would like a remark: It´s not the Barris car but a close clone of a Barris car. It is a clone of Larry Ernst Bel Air Royal in its second version, with some design improvments as suggested by Harry Bentley Bradley. The original Barris car is owned by Burns Berryman and it is restored to the first version.
Any of you guys know the "name" or "code" on the yellow color? (50 Ford Kustom) I sure want Barbro to look that perky.

I remember seeing both cars together in a mag somewhere. RPW. You are truly a Custom Encyclopaedia. Make sure you're writing all this knowledge down.

Thanks! Keith´s car was featured in the 2nd Hop Up Annual, in Custom Rodder July 99 and in Pat Ganahl´s book "The American Custom Car" (in the last one along with the first version). And about writing in English: The feature about Keith´s car will be in English! It will be in a new magzine all about traditional custom cars. The name of the magazine is Iron and it will take the place of Lead News. It will be in English, otherwise similar.
