I have a few questions, if anyone can help it would be great. I think I have a 1951 Ford F1, the person I bought it from said it was a 1950, but after doing some research I am starting to lean more towards a 1951. How would I find out what year it is, there is no engine and most of the transmission is mssing. Secondly, does anyone know of where you can buy a radio for a F1. LMC and everyone has radios for F1's but they arent the same size or shape as the one that in in my truck. If anyone can help, it would be great Thanks
I had a look at this site, but my plate thing is completely different, it has nothing saying model, year or anything, its just a plain tage saying... Ford Motor Company, Series F-1 4700lbs.
51/2 dash has 2 round gauges and a cowl-air grille in the centre. 51/2 has the buck tooth grille. 48-50 has an extended D-shaped gauge cluster and NO fresh air grille in the dash. 48-50 has the 'monkey-face' grille.
Visit "carnut" http://www.carnut.com/ You will find the difference there. As stated, the grill in the '50 has horizontal chrome bars The grill in the '51 has three large teeth.
48-50 is like the multi-colored truck on the left, with bars for grille; 51-52 have the 3-*** grille like the truck behind. As noted the dashes are also different.
The 1951 has both size rear windows. The deluxe cab was wide and the standard was still the small one. Deluxe also had stainless around the windshield and a different side trim on the hood. I think the same on all this for the 1952 model.
