I've heard that about all of the big GMs from like 80 on up used basically the same front end except for the mid 90's Impalla SS and Cop car Caprice. They had bigger ball joints. The ones prior to 80 were standard and the later are all metric. I haven't confirmed this but I was looking for them as well. Some of the Impala SS web sites can help. They seem to have some opinions on the issue of dropped spindles with strength and clearance with the big impala wheels. I'm using a caddy chassis and building the car around it so I'm not worried about clearance yet. I will probably update to the metric ball joints and spindles just for part availability later.
