Maybe they all died from the heat and lack of trees and shade...........oh wait, should be enough shade there with all those HUGE tents that every club there hires to be put up.

    No. Steel. Rods. Allowed.

  7. Noted that the newspaper said "nearly 10,000 rods"....the economy and fuel has kept at least 2,000 at home.
NSRA will pad the numbers one way or another....they always have!!!

Most of the pictures of rods on the newspaper site are from York, Pa. Interesting

To all the whiners ... most of who are not here at the Nats ...
Lots of cars and lots of folks. :) ARE HERE ...

The wife and I have been here since Tuesday :D

All the vendors are inside because the building has been enlarged. All the usual vendors are here and I had to wait in line at almost every place I stopped at today to buy parts, pieces and stuff for my projects. I am also buying some parts for friends back home ... with their money

I have seen a LOT of Hambers here ... some even walked up and spoke that I did not recognize ( glad they did ) . I had my Deuce Roadster hat on.
I see no real noticeable lack of cars and there seems to be plenty of folks too. The swap is down ... but there were a lot of folks selling stuff and I saw a lot of folks carrying stuff.

    Is it HOT ?
Well duh ... It is the first of August.
I am having a great time ... just like the past 8 to 10 years or so and I am planning of being here NEXT year also. So what if theres only 8 thousand cars instead of 12 thousand. There's still more than you can really look at. I am number #8577 and I registered Wednesday.

I thought I wouldn't be able to go, never looked at a calendar, could have gone, didn't figure it out until it was too late to plan for it. Total lack of planning on my part.

A wife who is on call & two kids are cramping my style this weekend. ;)

How about Southern Rods not selling parts for the prices advertised.......The big tall bald headed guy completely refused to sell me a Edelbrock carb.
    What a crock..

Rod parts warehouse doesnt mind selling to me, nor does Speedway!!!!

Anyone made some photos of COE trucks. Love to see them. Mostly I see the trucks standing on the background of other car photos. So I know the are there;););).

Ain't NO different at any other major rod event...GoodGuy's, KKOA, Right Coast, there's always going to be those that'll spend a couple of hours in the plane as opposed to those that actually drive for several hours...registration #'s are always skewed...

Deuce Roadster...spot on...never could figure out why people whine...especially when they are not there...

    Brandon,

That is Ed Struder from Jackson, TN. He is a friend of mine. We ran together some when I lived on that end of the state.

Ed is a great guy.... even if his wheels are a little loud. :p

I had a good time as always. don't care if you didn't go, like tents or street rods. Everybody has their own opinion. that's what make the world not so ho-hum
