What is the most sought after early Ford rim?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by PunkRodder, Jul 19, 2008.

  1. These are harder to find than any 16" rim that Ford had.

These are 15" x 5" wide five rims. We used them on the left front of our oval track race cars.

I have a set of four but still don't know what they originally came on.

I know a 42-47 Ford pickup is not a Divco...and I was not implying that it was. Go back and read the post maybe??? I also already stated that I was wrong on Divcos before you posted. Again, sorry if I cramped your "style".

Calling the 18" accessory/high clearance wheels "Divcos" is kind of like using the term "G***er"...sure it's not technically correct, but everyone knows what you're talking about.

Another pretty sought after wheel is the Streamlite aluminum "trailer" wheel that is the 5x5.5 bolt pattern and accepts an early Ford hubcap. I'm going to use a set of these on my '32 Roadster.

The 18'' 5 on 5 1/2 hi clearance Ford wheel was made by K.H. And Divco Never Ever used that wheel. Divco had a bolt circle that was huge like old Ford 1 1/2 ton . GM used the 18'' 6 hole like Ford on the 3/4 ton '41 to '46 and in '47 GM went to 8 lug on the 3/4 ton. GM also used a 17'' 6 lug that was the same center as the 18''. The GM wheels in 18'' very very hard to come up with. BIG BUCKS
