Couple weeks back I replied to a post on a Shoebox commenting on its straight bar grille. Mentioning that I had one that was never going to end up on my 51 as I was lucky enough to (thru The HAMB) acquire a 51 Meteor grille. Well one astute reader caught that statement and asked If he could buy the straight bar grille. After a few PMs It was sent his way, and in true HAMBer fashion I received payment today, hopefully he has his grille now. Funny thing my wife always worries about my shipping parts out prior to receiving payment, Having shipped stuff to Hambers worldwide over the years have only been burned once. And believe it or not that was for some FREE parts only seeking postage reimbur*****t from a guy probably an hour's drive away. Life is good................
I think there are more parts going to HAMB members from HAMB members than most are aware of. I know I send out stuff that I think guys may need, and just ask them to do the same if they notice someone may need a part you don't have a need for.
The HAMB is truly par excellence in many ways! Glad to hear about your good experiences! There really is hope for us all!
Last weekend I was in the middle of a brake swap project with my buddy... **** went wrong and we thought we were going to have to order parts, and I told him to hang on a minute, I was going to go ask for help on the HAMB... he sorta chuckled, like I was being silly... well, within 15 minutes of posting, I had not only the solution to the problem, but another HAMB'er on the phone from halfway across the country, explaining what to do, and offering advice. If not for this site and the cool guys here I'd still be sitting around waiting for parts I didn't even need. My friend (who isn't a HAMB'er) was truly impressed by how fast and how accurate the info we got was. In case there was ever any doubt...the HAMB rocks!
In one of the extinct car threads or something like that I mentioned a friend of mine had a ch***is from a Hollier car and that I had a difficult time finding any kind of pictures of one. A guy saw the thread and messaged me because he was interested in buying it from my friend. I put them in touch and he bought it. He was in Wisconsin, my friend in Texas.
Great to hear it. I have a 49 Chevy plate guard going on my shoebox and a c4 yolk in my F1 and a few other misc things all from the members here. Great people!

I have had several folks send me various parts over the years... and I have sent some care packages as well... never a problem!

I love this place! Last week I was waiting for some much needed parts from Speedway. I checked UPS tracking and they said it had been delivered (it was just not to the right house). It was late on a friday and I had no idea what to do. I get a phone call from a nice guy who says he has my parts. He tells me where he lives and waits on me so I can pick up my parts, turns out he's a HAMB'er and has a cool 5 window in the works. I thought this was really cool, hope I can repay this honest deed someday.
I got some Buick Drums from 51ChevPU not long ago. Paid and they were here pronto. Long Live The HAMB!!
i just got a grill today from rewired that i bought a week ago.so far i have nothing but good experiences on the hamb
