need some opinions

Sould i paint my 1937ford, my rod has the original patina and looks great but in the last couple of weeks I have been getting an the urge to paint it. if i were to paint it i would paint it satin dark blue like the radiator grill. I would like some opinions on what everyone thinks.

I can only guess that you refer to the truck in the foreground of your avatar? If yes, PAINT IT! I'm about "over" that look. It was cool for a while. But, well played out. PS-it looks more like surface RUST than patina to me. Hey, you asked

Throw some color on it...who ever said it looked like surface rust is right... "Patina" is somewhat lame...like flat black and red wheels... If it's like old kick ass lettering... leave it... but surface rust and faded out paint?? Strip it down prime and throw some paint on it.

 

the doors say Bluffside trailer park, hunting, fishing, boating, Parker Arizona. if I paint it, i want to re-paint the doors the same lettering..

 

you might as well chop it too. Paint/patina i like them both.

 

I know things rust more slowly there in sunny Ca., but here in the rust belt, rust is the enemy, it destroys cars, that's why old cars are so few here. I love old cars, therefore, I hate rust. That look has been done to death, paint it.
