I thought this was interesting. If it has been posted already - sorry. http://www.azcentral.com/news/datacenter/gascalc.html
Mine cost me about $5.10 a day 10 days a month, I drive 18 mi. a day every other week. Starting Mon. there wil be 3 of us so that will drop even more. Diesel fuel is 4.69 a gallon, I drive a 06 Dodge 2500 4x4 , cummins
Couple cups o' coffee, toast, Cheerios. It's the GD trips to the stores that get us. Course, multi-trips to the wrecking yard or parts house . . . no problemo....
Looking forward to this routine myself, march 2009 is just around the corner...........not to be forgotten are those 10 steps from house to the shop.
In my '03 Dodge 5.7 Hemi 3/4 ton truck, it costs me between 22-28 cents/mile depending on the price of gas. That's why I'm thrashing to get my '29 RPU completely roadworthy - its got a '74 Pinto 2000cc motor and 4 speed, and should get more than twice what my Dodge gets!
Right on the money, C9. I get a kick out of these people slurping their $4.00 cups of coffee from Starbucks and whining about the price of gas.
I've purchased Starbucks regular coffee a couple of times. $2.00 which is ok and I like it. Although . . . I stood behind a couple of 30 something gals a few months back and watched as they ordered some lama lama ding dong espresso creation with a shot of barranca foam, one big chocolate chip cookie and two little carrot cakes. Absolutely killed a $20. bill. Couldn't believe it....
I just worked out that to cover the cost of my trip I have to work for 3 hours... No wonder I cant afford Starbucks coffee..... P.
I walk or take the bus (free) but I only live about 1.5 miles from work. I laugh at the people who complain about gas prices but buy a $4 cup of coffee every morning and eat lunch at a restaurant every day
