pontiac v/8 flywheel bolts up. You need to machine the end of the crank for a pilot bushing. I have heard of some people making a custom adapter to run a chevy pilot bushing. Good luck Dave
I'm thinking that a '79 was equipped with a 425 but could be wrong on that. Anyway, I have a flywheel for a 472 (also works on a 425) send me a PM.
Maximum torque specialties has the stuff you need,no need to machine the crank either, they have a bushing that fits in the end of the crank with just a clearance hole that needs to be drilled in the crank with a hand drill. I had a 500 caddy in my 94 chevy crewcab for a while with a NV4500 5 speed behind it. Was alot of fun to drive, the truck now has a ***mins 6bt in it.
hey guys thanks for the info hell idont know i thought it was a 500 but eveyone was tellin me that they didnt have 500 in the 79s so hell i dont know i will have to run the numbers again but iwll check into what u guys say and how do i sent the pms i am to the the hamb havnt figured it out yet let me know
yeah, as I remember it the last 500 was in 76, and I'm pretty sure the last 472 was in the early 70's. Dan
