Been a long time since I started one of these. It's Sunday in Australia, right? Revell's new '32 sedan. Pretty much just using the body, frame, and interior (as usual). Replaced the rear crossmember with a flattened '40 unit...cut out all the transmission mount stuff and put in the '40 X-member. Though this '32 comes with a flathead, I used the motor from the '40 coupe kit because it's got the '40 transmission with it still, instead of the AOD (or C4 or whatever it is). I think the banjo is from the '37 truck kit. Wheels and brakes from the '40. Modified front axle from the '29 truck and '31 sedan kits. Don't know where the front tires came from...Orange Crate maybe? Rear tires are from AMT's '67 Riviera kit. Oh, and I chopped it some. It will be mustard yellow, with E&J headlights (anyone have a source?), brown wheels (with caps and rings) and interior.
Looks good so far! I hadn't thought of putting a real x-member in that frame. The Revell Deuce kits make a good base for all kinds of different styles. Here's a coupe from my shelf:
I've been working on this Krazy 57 chevy, it's a blast to build something off the wall like this the windshield kept leaking but i think i got it now i've also been working on this beast keith ross AKA modelcarjedi
Ever since this kit came out thats what I wanted to do. It's my favorite '32 sedan. The model still needs to get a little bit lower.
The garage on my desk is air conditioned...supposed to get to 104 today outside! Hey, there's an idea....I'll bring the welder and grinder into the living room Got it a little lower and moved the rear wheels out some...almost there. Keith - that '57 is wild man, looks great.
