So my grandfather and i have had a problem on his deuce. It's a chevy 350 bored and stroked to a 383. when i came out this summer it was leaking oil out of the brand new PCV valve on the drivers side. so we were spitting in the wind and i switched the valve covers so the valves were on the forward part of the motor... both are still on the same side, just rotated 180 degrees... the problem stopped. well then it started leaking out of the breather cap. just a little bit at first but then bad. worse than before, and it has gotten worse over the past few weeks... help?

You have a blockage somewhere, or plumbing routed wrong, which isn't allowing the crankcase pressure to be ventilated properly OR engine compression or exhaust is pressurizing the crankcase. The reversing of valve covers doesn't make sense. I've had them with PCVs etc at either end and never a problem.

I know that it doesn't... someone told us that it coulda had something to do with the angle of the engine? i'm not sure though if they knew what they were talking about.

are there baffles under/in the valve covers?? also the breathers with holes all the way around the bottom will leak--either fill the bottom half holes
with sealer or order some from Sunspec--they have no holes underneath-has worked for me

I think they make a breather grommet with a built in baffle. Pretty sure I used one once.

Check the hole going to your pcv hose. If you don't have baffles You are ****ing oil through the pcv. Check your oil very often. I've seen engines use 1 qt. to 50 miles with no baffles. That's why I only run GM valve covers.
