Just got home from Hotrodarama put on by the Mischief Makers. Great show, some neat cars. Weather was not what I expect for August but its the NW.. but no rain so that was good. Saw a bunch of HAMB plaques and recognized a number of cars. Had hoped to met a few I chat with but maybe next time. Here is the link to all my pictures but below are a few I wanted to share http://public.fotki.com/Boones/car_shows/hotrodarama/
Man, if the cars you chose to share are representative of the entire show that must have been one kick ass get-together. I couldn't find fault with one of them. Nice collection of rods-n-customs. Thanks!
Ken did you speak to the owner? The hood ornament is so HAMB WORTHY.. I hope you took a really clear photo.. I've met the owner.. and if i recall correctly this was an un restored o.G. car..
Boones--saw your '57 there. I met some fellow HAMBers and had a GREAT day. That black Bay Area Roadsters '32 roadster time capsule pulled up and parked next to my '55 and I flipped at how cool it is. Great people, great show. Maybe not to be repeated?
Sawzall, did not get a pic of it unfortunately. I did look at it but forgot to shoot a pic. it was a cool ride. Cut55, went by your ride a few times but did not see anyone around it (that looked like they owned it). maybe the next show we will meet.
hell of a good time thanks for the pictures Boones here's a clip of some old dragster today would be cool to have streaming video of some of these shows doncha think?
You're missing something from last night Mr. Boones, and it's one of the very most important things about Hotrodarama. One. Very. Particular. Thing. Nitromethane. Nutso out of control 250mph+ monsters lit off at night in the presence of 1000+ people smack in the middle of a historic city neighborhood? That, THAT is something that makes this show amazing. That and The Swiss Tavern, which is one of the greatest places to see a guy like Wayne Hancock make musical magic for 2.5 hours while everyone has a riot of a time. That and the folks who put the show on for nothing but the love, who I wish I had more pictures of, but I just don't. Great show guys, thank you for doing this for us.
So far this thread best reprsents what HRAR was like this year, thanks for the pictures, it was a great show
Another great year! I had my kids in tow and they were intrigued by the cobweb designs and "road kill" (like a rubber chicken in the grill of one car). I liked the variety except for the fact there wasn't a single Hudson. Hopefully I can change that soon. There were also a lot of great cars parked along the curbs in the area outside the show. Here's a few more pics:
Oh man, that green 30-31 roadster and the lakes styled deuce roadster just made my night. Outstanding cars, thanks.
You must have missed mine...Granted, it's easy to miss when its parked next to Erik's "Technicolor dreamboat"(tm)...
My hats off to who ever is responsible for putting on this show!!! For someone like myself who will probably never get the opportunity to enjoy this show live and in living color, this is one of my all time favorites to view pictures from because of the location and the high quality of vehicles. I think this is one of the coolest locations for a show like this. The whole deal with the show being on a lower level and the vendors set up on the side.... above the show, along the fence. I dunno.... just looks really cool to me!!! Great pics, thanks for sharing!!!!! and Tony Bones: those shots are amazing!!!
