No offence to people running astros, but i have noticed astros, "flake", and all that 60s stuff has simply become the new trend now that building "rat rods" has become expensive and actually takes some skill in various feilds to make them drive. But now people have discovered they can buy any ****ty late 50s or 60s car, throw on some astros and sprinkle glitter on it and you have a "bellflower" style car.

Blah blah blah............I think I'd go wides whites on astros for anything 57 and older. 58 and after I'd totally go skinny whites and astros.

To me, 58 is the cut off point. Prolly because the cars got so much bigger and to me, wide whites just don't cut it on them ala I think my 58 Chevy looks PUFFY on wides, but the Prom Queen looks ****in ***y on'em.

BTW, 57 Buicks make me weak at the knees.:D

Trends, fads..they'v always been around and always will.At least the "bellflower" style is timeless and sound. Good looking cars. I'd rather see a ton of 60's style'd Kustoms rolling around then a bunch of unsafe "ratrods" getting stuck on speed bumps. But to each their own.

:D:D:D That's exactly what I'm going to do to the Merc. Not only is the look timeless, it doesn't take a whole lotta money to do. Not everybody on here has bookoo bucks, hell I don't even have fabrication skills. There is research involved if you want to pull it off looking right though, so in that way you will be able to tell who's faking it if it comes to that.

    Thanks Eric.

Here's a better pic of the wheels...

(nevermind those flames, they are just a selfmade vinyl-decal which I applied some time ago when I got a slightly 'bored' with the looks of the car and the shabby wheels it had on it back then)

But putting on the Astro's and dual pinner tires made a huge difference in looks IMO.

Someday I will own a nice 57 Buick. There’s only one way to go.
Narrow whites on skylarks is the only option
    Anything else is ghetto

Any of you guys know if anyone has reproduced the "Diamond" Supremes? They were rare and expensive even in the late '60s.
