I still need to aim the headlights..but monsoon rain is poundin' down now.
I have a few brews in me..maybe another or two..a cigar while I clean up the workbench..

I put a new oil pan on my 283 & installed the motor on the rolling frame. I then pushed my luck & tried to remove the old intake (on for 45 years). Three of the bolt heads were so deteriorated that they were too small for a 9/16" socket & too big for a 1/2" So, I needed a 17/32" socket, which I got at Das Awkst Fest for $1.00! The socket worked & the pushrods have seen the light of day since 1964. Nice weather out there today...decent flea market.

I fought with a bolt for half of the day. Yep. One bolt... but I won.

I striped all the paint off the dash of the wagon, cut out the rusted section, made a new piece, welded it in,welded up some other holes in the dash... then painted it and the windshield garnish mouldings... then today put the dash back together.

I did a lot of buying and renting, no labor.

Rented a welder to do some patch work. Bought an auto body repair book so I can learn basic prep of a car from body work down to prepping and painting.

Goin to patch my holes tomorrow &/or Tuesday.

Picked up a 72 Tempest that was a project that never got started. Came with a Pontiac 400 and freshly rebuilt TH400 (these going in the 58 GMC).

Replaced brake hose on 53, he now brakes in a straight line and ready for the road.

Cleaned 50 years of dirt, oil from the engine bay of the 55, prepped the inner fenders for primer, painted the core support, stripped part of the firewall. Good weekend of work.

Pulled last weekends acquired 289 back out and cleaned 40 years of gunk off, replaced valve cover gaskets, installed new plugs, painted it up and dropped it back in. Gonna try and fire it up next weekend. Progress!

I bought a 34 truck cab and brought it home.
Then dropped it on my naked frame and 31 fenders and started dreaming.

I spent the weekend with my brother... at the FIRST NSRA NATS that I got to drive my own hot rod into! That's a good way to spend a weekend. I'll post more later in a separate thread.

Haha, story of my life! It took me a week to get one bolt out of my exhaust manifold, and the only reason it came out was because I got mad and cut a hole in the firewall...

put my dodge on the lift and looked at the broken tail pipe hanger. then I spent an hour finding the brake parts I bought for it a year ago. after I found them I put them on the workbench in a neat little row.

    sold a 51 chevy hood for $25.00.

WOOO HOOOO! weekends are always this exciting around here.

Finished installing the original headlights on the sedan....took the chrome hot rod lights I had on the sedan and installed them on the "T" (took off the tractor lights), then we went to find a good location for a short photo shoot for updated pictures of the two cars.

Went and picked up a 28 Packard Towncar that I found on e-gay local. The car was built in the 80s by my father and some freinds for a buddy and it has not changed a bit.He was very happy to get it he is 78 now and the buddies that helped build it are all p***ed on know. They took a roadster front and a four door sedan rear and made the body has a small block and 350 trans with a econoline front axle. They used to build stuff out of what ever they had around at the time.
