    Hello all
I've been searching for a 32-34 Ford coupe here and there for a while now trying to find that barn find. Well I might have gotten lucky! I found a gentlemen that has a 1933 Ford coupe body and misc. parts that he will part with. The body is supposed to be really nice. Its been inside a trailer for about 7 years. The body is not chopped and is complete. The grill has been rechromed. Everything is there except the chassis. What would be a going price for something like this? He wants $10,000 Is this a good price?

5W, 3W...???? Either way thats probably a super sweet deal if the bodys decent and complete. The chrome grill won't hurt either. Things like garnish moldings, dahs and such will add up quick too. If it's a 3W, you better be on your way with cash in hand!

For something that won't take too much to repair, it's in the ballpark. I know a guy who paid 15 grand just for a '34 three-window body that needed a fair amount of work.

  4. From what I can tell, one firstborn child, one arm, one leg, and your left nut is a fair price for any 32-34 Ford coupe.

Unless it's a mangled up body off a dirt track car that's been wrecked and hammered out so many times it looks like it was shaped out of a crinkled up ball of aluminum foil.

Then, you can keep your left nut.

The guy is crazy, way too much money. PM me his phone number and I'll tell him off for ya.

If it's any good, try to deal if you can, but grab it. All but frame? Fenders too? Hood? All that old crap is golden.

  7. That's ditto for me. You need to give me this guys number too. (Preferably before you give it to Gas4blood). I can help you out of what is a very messy situation here and relieve you of the burden of having to talk this guy down to a more reasonable price. Honest!!! Specs

Actually I found out it is a 5w not a 3W but thats fine with me. After talking with him some more he did say the fenders are gone but the rest of the body is there. I wasn't going to use the fenders anyway :)

10k for a "decent" 33 5 window dosn't sound out of range to me at all...Well, it's nut's actually, but well within the range of what many go for now day's.
IF you want or wanted one and can fund it, GO GET IT before someone else does.

Id say yes.. probably not a great deal, as youll be fixing a fair amount of shit workmanship , but the truth is if you dont buy it someone else will.

If you are capable of correcting the thing yourself, it probably is a decent deal. I have a hard time with the reality that 5 windows go for so much now. 4-5 years ago you could get one for half of that.

If you really want a coupe, buy it. It has potential. What are the odds of running across another? And if so how much will that one cost. I'm sure there there are still a few unimformed people out there who would sell a nice coupe for dirt. Are you willing to take that chance?

The tubs and all of that steel tubing have got to go.

I'd say jump on it if you want a 34 Coupe! Sure they were cheaper some years back, but will be more expensive next time you find one.....located near you.
Hell, I'd say the rechromed grille and garnish moldings (if they're choice) is perhaps around 2 grand alone. That leaves 8k for the body which looks a pretty solid start. Will he come down on the 10k price? Maybe offer 8k, see if you can get it for 9k?

If he has the title to it that's another added bonus. Also what billylo said, the grill alone is worth a good part of the asking price, so 10K is in the ballpark. They're never going to get any cheaper.

It is a shame it is in primer and has been played with- it looks like it has had pieces put into the bottom of the quarters behind the doors? and too me it looks like it has been chopped- is that hammer and shrinking marks below the rear window? A friend of mine purchased a 28 roadster in primer like this one and I have been redoing the body- a real amatuer piece of work- spot welded in patches and then bondo over top- you would probably have to strip it to bare metal to make sure there is no rust underneath- to think I sold a 33 3 window for $700.00 in 1970- guess this one would be worth a bunch more- just some thoughts- good luck

Oh I made sure of that I got the wheels! Have to sell some of that crap to but the repair panels :) And no its never been chopped. Its really straight. Only spot I can tell that has had some repair is behind the door in the rocker area. And I don't think there was rot they put it in for supprt. I dont know why. Everything done to this car was done by a guy that pro-streets everything.

Steve's Autorestoration in Portland is the absolute best. By the way, congrats on a good deal, even if you have to undo some of the work, it was well worth that price.
