Great Pics! I wanted to go, I was across Squirrel road at Tball on Saturday but is it true it's $80 just to get in? I know they want to keep riff raff....I guess it worked since I'm not paying that to drool on cars!

Bob, Meadowbrook is a really nice show and it's a hell of a lot cheaper then going to Pebble Beach. Plus, you can drive there from Conn is about 15 hours.

Great pictures, btw. It's nice to see the variety of great cars you get at a major Concours these days. Always happy to look at a Duesenberg, but how often do you get to see some of the ones pictured here?

I'd really like to see the cars, overcoming my fear of not belonging there is the major problem.

It was only $25 bucks a piece this year to get in.
Lucky for me and Scott we hang with the riff raff from RM so we got p***es.:D

The event is truely amazing and a perfect way to spend a beautiful Sunday.

Thanks for posting the photos. There were quite a few HAMB members there. I guess we should have had a meet & greet.:D

Always a great show! The parking seemed really screwed up this year though....we had to wait in several lines to get on a shuttle bus because they blocked the normal walking route...as far as not fitting in--don't worry about it--it's a good chance to laugh at snobby folks' khaki pants on a hot day and nobody gives you a hard time. Don't expect anybody to be your bud, but nobody bothers you. I've been going for 11 years and I'm no rich man. It honestly spoils you for most car shows because there's so much one off and rare and beautiful stuff that the local show with Chevelles and Camaros just isn't the same anymore!

Thanks Aaron, So you can get in without the blue blazer an khaki pants? I wear socks year round so I guess I'll stand out in that crowd.

  12. Great pic's, thanks for sharing...The Mormon Meteor was the winner at Pebble Beach last year, amazing car....Can't wait for next week's show there...

And as for the dress code....

Great pics indeed. Was a great day and glad to see the drag cars. I have to admit the Miller was superb, my friend had the V16 Marmon right beside the car so I got to drool over it quite a bit. Another highlight though was hearing the drag cars run. The Yankee Peddler and the Z11 sounded great but the Bob Ford tunnel port sounded great as well. Well worth the price of admission. Thanks fos psoting the pics-Jim

Nothing wrong with dressing up every now and again. I enjoyed wearing a sundress, nice sandels and fancy hat for a change.

You're probably thinking of a few years ago. Admission was jacked to 40 and attendance really dropped off, so they lowered it back down to 25...worth it!!

  18. Pebble Beach is like $175.00 a person this year

If that is a request for photo funds I'm happy to chip in. I've said it before your photos of Pebble Beach are THE BEST I've ever seen. If I never get there in my lifetime at least I've seen it through your camera.

We thought the Drag Cars would be interesting. We did Hot Rods a number of years ago, but was thinking about Streamliners or Customs? Interested in hearing what everyone likes to see - keeping in mind that it is a Concours d'Elegance.
Glad everyone enjoyed the show - great pictures also.

    Damn! Missed that!
Your right on. I dump the demin short for a pair of khaki cargo shorts and fit right in. Really is a different sort of place and a nice change. Fun to watch the cars drive around and hear about the features. The tour of the house and the craftsmanship of the wood work is unbelievable. 80,000 square feet of house and an 8000 square foot "carriage house" OH BOY!
I had to miss it this year though. Prior engagement.

Keep in mind that more than half the people that bring cars to these shows are not ultra-wealthy, but are in fact "regular guys" that maybe made a bit of money later in life or got the car years ago when it wasn't so expensive. From what I can tell the ****-wad ratio (1 in10?) is exactly the same at Meadowbrook and at the local cruise night. Just do what I do and pick out your cleanest shirt and pants and a decent pair of shoes and you won't feel out of place at all.
