Projects I Gotta '64 Fairlane Today!?!?!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BARNETT, Aug 3, 2008.

  1. So the other night, I was minding my own business when I get an email from Crease. From time to time he likes to torment me with ebay/craigslist listings. this one seemed like it was too interesting not to check out, so the following day we drove out to the outskirts of town and peeped at this thing. Dig it, don't dig it...whatever...it's Crease's fault anyways.:D

    Here's the scoop.....

Solid, recently rebuilt 289 with a 4 speed toploader. New-ish tires. Fresh, lowbuck interior. Body needs some work, but it's not horrible...especially if I don't dig too deep. Looks pretty nice in either blinding sunlight or under dim streetlights. ;) Drives straight, stops straight. Hauls ***.

Here's the "now" pics. I'll be making some noticable changes fairly soon.......

I used to have one the same year and color in 68 with a 406 3/2s and a 4 speed,
I wish I still had it

  13. I'll bet you do!

HotRodPrimer...you guys are practically over-run with those! I don't recall having seen any 64's running around down here...but then, I don't get out much anymore, either.

Loose the white letters & you have a winner there.

Looks damn fine from here Dan, I bet it's a hoot to drive.

  22. Good deal. We have two of those 64 hardtops out back plus two four doors for parts. I dont know if i will ever get around to doing anything with them. But i like looking at them. We used one for a drag car 20 years ago had a 289 four speed then later a 351 winsor with a FMX auto. OldWolf

  25. Thanks again for all of the feedback, everyone!

Alright, let's see what the general consensus is....S/S style street racer, or cruiser for this thing? I thought I had it all figured out, until a buddy sent me a photoshop that totally goes along with what my wife digs. Crease will have a stroke. :D I'll post the photoshop later, after I "o.k." it with the artist.
