So this is what a stroke feels like?!?!

Still a reallllllllly big fan of the SS direction, but either way it'll kick booty! BTW Eva and Jonesy like the SS thing to, you dont want to dissappoint them! ;)

That is a sweet little Fairlane! I agree... in just flipping the raised white letters on the tires and run with it. I used to own a '67 Mercury Cyclone with a 289. Great find and I sure don't see any reasons to apologize for that ride. It looks damn near perfect to me.

I just sold mine a couple weeks ago, would have come out just like that white one.

Down the road a ways from me in Tonganoxie KS there is a '63 hardtop with 260 and factory 4 speed for sale. Been there a long time, and I don't remember what he wanted. If it was a '64 it would have been mine a long time ago. I just don't like '63's. Seems like he was kinda proud of it. It isn't real sharp, paint ****s, interior is blah with later velour seats from something else, etc.

Your '64 is great! SS is the only way to go.

  15. Great score, Dan! A very clean ride, I'm looking foreward to your mods.

I was at the Gratiot Cruise on Sunday and saw a few really nice ones there.

    Congratulations...

Steve?!?! You're still around? I thought you fell off the face of the planet! As for the Scion...they each have their purpose.;)

I get to come up for air every now and then...been working at night paintin rods for some extra cash so I dont have much free time. Cant wait to see what you do with the Fairlane!! Personally I think Crease talked you into the Fairlane so he could get your Scion for himself

I don't really get much time on here any more.........but I just had to log in to give my opinion.

The CRUISER look is OK. I'm NOT a fan of wide whites, on a mid 60's car. I vote for the SS look the WHOLE way!

Maybe not letter it out, but certainly go for that hauls *** look.

BTW, I sent those pics to my harvester service manager. He's got one, red on red.................he's so jealous it's hilarious.:D

    Don't be holdin out Dan!

    I think it's time for a survey.....

  22. Crease, you're crackin me up!

It's a tough call for me. I do like the racer look and as a sign painter, I dig the lettering possiblities of that look, too! HOWEVER...I really like the tough, but s****y look of the cruiser.

Blake did a little photoshop action for me, too (for what it's worth, Blake digs the sneaky cruiser look ;)) The lettering isn't the eact style I would do, but it has the right over-all feel to it. I'd probably do even more lettering, on the top of the rear 1/4, where it normally says "THUNDERBOLT"....

You have a great base to do whatever you want with there. I don't think you can mess it up. Even if you left it as-is and drove it you would be way ahead. That 4 spd and the little revvy 289 sound like fun:D

oh... and yours is a Sporst Coupe so you could pull off the custom look a little easier than the sedan that the Thunderbolts were based on. Look like a Baby Galaxy!

Gotta love those 64 Fairlanes. One of my favorite cars. Nice score.

  27. I think the hardtop/sedan thing is one of the things that's been driving me crazy. The hardtop roofline just looks so sleek and s****y...kinda like a T-Bird roofline or something. More and more, I'm leaning towards towards the cruiser. Kind of the best of both worlds...s****y cruiser that is capable of cutting loose with some power. Still thinkin, though....
