Does anyone on the east coast(hopefully around Pa.) know where there are any 49-53 caddy hearses for sale? I do not need it to be in good shape as all I want is the roof and tailgate. If anyone has a lead let me know, thanks

  2. If you cant find one by you, I have one that is gonna get the ax if nobody buys it whole. mine is a 53 Ambulance, but the roof and rear door should be the same.

i dont realy want to be rude and talk you out of it but please dont cut up a beautiful hearse or ambulance. It would be just like sending it to the scrapper. Please dont.

  8. I agree with you 100% but I have no takers on the whole car and I dont want to be buried with it.

I wish so does my son. Price is great but i have no space. I have a 36 chevy truck in the backyard thats torn apart ready for sand blasting and then the works. I have my sons 58 truck but that will probaly endup that he will do it himself mostly. Now i am getting a free 53 ford customline post which is complete and needs resto and some body panel replacement. Oh and i have a bmw 633 that i started to customize. So right now not much space and wife told me no more. My son would love to have your car though but we have no space. He has been looking for one of these flower cars forever. He even started saving up for one 3 years ago that cost 3 grand. Now he has 2 years to go till he gets the license and has his 58. No space sadly:( But do me one favor dont crush it.

Englers in New Angola PA, north of Hazelton on 81, has an ambulance that might work out for you. After entering the yard at the top of the hill, walk down to the bottom. Then take the trail up the hill on your right, and at the top follow the road to the left and about 25 cars down on the left hand side you should see the rear end of the car.

Thanks for all the leads guys. I really do not want to butcher a good one up but if the whole car is pretty much shot the roof is usually still decent so that is what I want. And I did see that one on ebay, i was just hopeing to pay less than that since all I really need is the roof.

there are a couple recycling(junk)yard locally here in northern VA that have some caddy hearses and ambulances. it's been awhile, but i know there were some some mid 50's to early 60's M&Ms.

maybe check out grim rides. maybe one of those cats can help.

Out of curiosity, are you bringing a hearse back from the dead or is this for a custom project?

  16. Make space. Sell something. I mean no offense but that's the same old song.

On the other hand, we had a '52 hearse here and did finally sell it after the damned carport roof fell on it one winter. If it's solid and complete it should sell, if it's less than complete... I had guys trying to buy the table out of this one for $1500 and up.
