Saturday a bunch of the Hambers came over and helped me get the truck running and I wanted to thank all you guys.

Hankcash, Rashy, MarkX, Charlie, Revhead, Famous59, Little George and Revhead's friend - sorry I didn't catch his name - no one introduced me to him. A couple of The Coollows came over...I owe all you guys!

I attached one pic and I will email Hankcash a couple others so he can do his photo magic on them.

Truck sounds great, runs great, I got the exhaust welded up today...Lenzi and I really appreciate all the help. If any of you guys need anything just let me know - I'd be happy to help any of you guys out anytime.

    Adam

So what was the problem that was keeping it from running?

It had a bad starter and the distributor was off.

Glad to hear you guys got it running. Sorry I had to leave early. Was the dist. off a tooth or just not timed right?

    <font color="green">It was a BLAST!!!

I leterally sweated my balls off though. If you should happen to find them Adam, ,MAMA RASH would like to have them back so she can put them back in her purse. [IMG]

Yeah, the smile on Adam's face gave me the warm fuzzies.

That thing sounds hella stout and maybe now that there is some exhaust, you will be able to adjust the lifters by ear.

Main problem was that the timing mark on the balancer is not at tdc.

Timing lights are for FORD people anyway!!!

Once we found TDC with Adam's comp tester, I aligned the dizzy droppped it in, bumped the motor till the shaft seated and that was it.

Then there was the starter and other various wiring problems, still had a six volt resister inline to the dizzy.

    That didn't help.

There is nothing like firing one up for the first time and seeing the look on the owners face.

Thanks to ADAM and Linzi (sp?) for the food and drinks.

Thanks to all the DFW HAMBers for keeping me occupied down there.

    I had a blast!!!

Need to go to work and get some rest!!!!

Adam, all I can say is that you must have been pretty desperate to get your engine going to let that group of perverts into your home.

But congrats and, truth be told, I think HAMBers are pretty excellent folks to have around.

So Rashy didn't try to "touch" you inappropriately?

I haven't seen Adam smile that big since the day our daughter was born. I know when I heard it start up from inside the house I knew there was a god and he was a HAMBer.

Our door is always open and the beer will always be cold for all of you guys. It was great having y'all over.

But y'all weren't loud enough - no complaints from the neighbors! Try harder next time would ya'. We have a reputation to protect around here!

Hanging out was great with all you guys. Thanks to the Adam12 family for the hospitality. Adam's smile was huge as shit. It was funny seeing him using his cell phone to let other people hear that his truck was running.

    <font color="green">AHhhhh,,,

The cell phone, a little modern tech mixed in with the good ole wrenching.

He was though, he was calling people up and holding the phone by what should be exhaust.

That big shit eating grin on his face.

Too bad Hank's car didn't fair so well.
