Art & Inspiration Need help convincing the wife - photoshop

Trying to convince my wife that the "turd" needs to be chopped and lowered. She's not too excited about - "especially with the ugly color it has". I've been able to do the "chop" and "lower" on the attached photos, but can't figure out how to change the colors while keeping the shadowing.

Could someone take an extra minute and redo the colors - I'm thinking a dark blue or burgany maybe, but open to anyones suggestions.

i think it looks the balls in white,shows the lines better.cant help ya on photo shop though

 

A darket color will definitely show off all the stainless on your pontiac...I had a 49 that was candy apple red and it was ***s...of course the kid who bought it painted it purple with yellow and white flames...looks like **** now...I will try to take some pix of the still shots that I have...not sure how they will turn out but if they look okay I will post 'em...check carnut.com they usually have pix

With the chop and lowering, I think that car looks great the color it is.

 

I'd lose the visor, and lower the car in the rear, no chop, and just accent the body lines with some tasteful pinstiping or maybe a gold flake roof....

 

if that car is as nice close up as it looks in the pics I wouldn't touch it.... well maybe lower it.

 

its difficult to pull color from white but i gave it a try anyways..

 

Chopped, lowered, shaved, extended quarters with hidden skirts etc.

 

DRAGINIT1290 is right....it is hard to pull colors out of white, however the main issue is that your pix shows the car on the shadow side, not the sunlit side, so as we add color to it, most of the new color is in shadow... that's why the colors I've added look so dark in my attempt-but nonetheless, I hope it helps convince her....I agree a dark color would be best because dark shiny paint creates a stronger contrast in your highlights...darker colors just look more dynamic, lighter colors tend to look stagnant...maybe try some Cadzilla Purple ?!?!?

As for the white? White just makes most cars look FAT, not all...but as for 49-51 Chevrolets and Ponchos ?!?!?...oh yeah, white makes them look positively porky....IMHO.

Wow - those colors look fantastic. Guess we'll have to get a new name for "The Trud" when we get it done.

If I asked my wife everytime I wanted to do work on the car...If it was up to her I wouldn`t even have car. On the other hand it is a good thing that you keep her involved. JUst tell her "Trust me you will like it when I`m done"
