Was it doing that prior to the rebuild, or was that the reason for it?

Langdon's holley weber kit fixed all my rochester woes. and it doesn't leak.

Sounds like a low float level to me.

Mine was doing something similar to that and it was a float problem.

I had an old plymouth valiant that did the same thing, but only turning one direction. Turned out to have holes corroded between the float bowl and the venturi right above the fuel level. Turn right and it would slosh enough fuel into the venturi that it would stall at lower rpm. If I kept my foot on the gas, it would usually bobble and recover, but it was too much fuel down low. swapped out the carb to fix it.

Exactly, low float level! Even if you think you set it right, try raising the level of fuel in the bowl. Now it's starving when it sloshes, during stops and turns.

Another possibility.......check to see if the float leaks. If it has gas inside it, it won't float properly.

Well, i was thinking float level as well..or fuel pressure..
I've seen where both will create a stall or stumble in turn's or when stopping.
Basically, if fuel pressure is too high, it will create the same problem as a float adjusted too high in that it will push too much fuel past the needle and seat creating an overflow problem in the bowl....
BUT, that was just a another thought of mine as i've run into it before and more than likely isn't what your situation is...

I'd double check your float level as was mentioned, especially if the problem wasn't there before.

Thanks for all the info. I too suspect the float. It does not have any holes in the floats. I set the float as stated in the rebuild instructions. Lowest level is set at 1 3/4 and highest setting is 1 9 /32. I can try to set it to something else but should I make the float level be higher or lower? Thanks again

You would want the float lower so that the level of fuel in the bowl is lower, to hopefully stop the overflow that might be happening.

I got it fixed. It was the float. I made it so the fuel level is lower. After taking it apart 3 times I have it set pretty good. Everything runs pretty good even though it is now where near the recomended setting it gave me. I tried to post a pic but not sure if it will work.
    Again thanks to all
