lot's of early Ford springs COULD be used , both on top of the axle and behind it....depends on how your ch***is is set up. maybe you could tell us a bit more about it , and maybe a few pictures?
You could use a model T rear spring which is common or springs behind the diff if you can work it out. Not my cup of tea but there is always talk about 1/4 eleptics which I guess could work, even torsion bars for the adventurous. Mainstream works best as it is tried and proven.
well its a stock a frame and banjo totally high boy stance and I am trying to get it a bit lower without doing the old "Z"d frame idea.....
A reverse eye Posie or stock Model T spring will drop you a couple inches without zeeing the frame. The Model A rear leaf is 2 1/4" wide and stands 17-1/2 to 18" tall from the floor to the top edge of the top spring (Posies is 17 ¼”. Model T rear leaf is 2" wide and stands 14-11/16" measuring from the floor to the top edge of the top spring with a tad wider perch spread. The Model T spring leafs are a tad thicker, and a tad narrower than a Model A but when they are compared to a Model A spring eye-to-eye, they are about 2, maybe 3 inches shorter so when you "stretch" them to fit the shackles, it effectively lowers the car. It will make the back low enough that you can make the radius rods rub the frame. Posies rear spring # 29-31R with reversed eyes is an eight leaf spring and will lower you 2 1/2 inches. Be sure to check you spring perch hole diameter to find out if you need 11/16 or 3/4 inch shackle bushings. All their springs have 3/4 inch eyes. Either way, you can take out leafs to get it exactly how you want it.
