EDIT/UPDATE @ 6/2/2015: Note that this is an ancient thread. Go to post #110 for how it looks now, and new post #143 lists it for sale @ $50K.

At long last, shiny paint! Still a way to go until it's drivable, but maybe it'll get on the road this year.

Thanks, I'm pretty jazzed about the color too. It's a Nissan color called "Mystic Emerald", and it's not really as dark as the picture appears -- it has a lot of light-to-dark "flop" in daylight. It'll be some weeks before the bright trim is ready, so I'm trying to be patient.

Of course I like that one too, but I can't stand still; the shoebox was finished (paint, upholstery) more than ten years ago. I suspect that if I quit doing this stuff I'll just croak.

Sorry, it's the only picture I have of it after polishing. The car is 400 miles North of me, and I haven't seen it yet myself. Can't wait!

I enjoy your humor almost as much as your cars and trucks. I can't wait to see it together. It was bitchin in primer.

Yow! More pictures from the painter. Unfortunately the hood bubbled, and will have to be stripped and repainted.

These pictures show how much more brilliant the paint is in the sun; look how bright it is on the hood and how dark on the vertical part of the deck lid.

    Oboyoboy!

I didn't see the paint formulation myself, but I wouldn't be surprised. I just asked for the stock Nissan color, which has a lot of flop when I see it on the street.

I've called Artistic a couple of times, but have been told that they hadn't stripped the parts yet. When I called this week they said they were doing it right then. We'll see, I guess.

Now that you mention it, I have a few myself. Funny, I never made that connection. Post-hypnotic suggestion, maybe?

  27. Thanks for the tip on this thread, I had missed it. Man you will soon have another neat machine on the road. Your cars always have special design touches that really sets them apart. Very nice work.
