My spies tell me plans are underway for a real HAMB-friendly Traditional Hot Rod and Custom extravaganza to be held in an undisclosed location in NE Wisconsin.

The tentative date I've heard is sometime in August of 2009. It's said that those in the know are already making plans for the new event. I also heard there will be room for a large swap meet, tons of camping along a meandering river and that several bands will be making an appearance during the two day event.

I'll let you know more when I hear more.

    Stay tuned...

Well, if Moe the Enforcer is involved in any way I'm pretty sure you have heard correctly. The security should be very adequate. :D Can't wait to hear more about this very interesting event.

The Cheaters Show is safe I think. Not sure if Elkhorn would matter very much.... and Goodguys is way down in Madison and has way too much shiny stuff for my taste.

If you had to plan an event based on what everybody else is doing you'd only have two shows a week... one Saturday and one Sunday. If the show is well run and has what the people want it should be able to stand on it's own...

Cool...we definately need more billet-free shows in this area. I hope the cut off year is somewhere around 64.

I guess every month is busy. When I was IN the promoting biz I found out that you can't please everybody with a certain date... you make an educated guess based on other shows, location, when the venue is available etc.

It's a tough deal ... plus you have the weather to consider. Back in stone ages of the 80's the race track I worked for got the National Weather Service to give us "historical weather data" that showed when and how much it rained on a specific date. THAT helped us pick the dates for special shows.

Of course that was before Al Gore invented "global warming"... or was that the internet? I don't remember...
