Cool, looks like the "ratrods around here with all the cuts andchops only tack welded together, forever.
Is that the kit from the brown "resto rod T sedan?
If so I saw the real thing parked across the street from "The Annex" bar around the corner from my house this past Saturday when I was comng home from Mooneyes.
It still looks the same and still looks great.

The day I put a model in the dirt is the day I have a heart attack while holding one.

Keep building, you're headed in the right direction.

Ah, okay, next time i will be sure and zoom the pictures out more, just thought it was cool. I dunno about "identity crisis" but I like it, and I thought that my backyard was the best place to showcase it. I had fun building it. Thanks for the replies-

I admire any of you guys who make things out of models. I never could get them to do anything but stick to my fingers.

Crew, do you think you could ditch the sig image? Its cool and all, but its kind of unnecessary what with avatars and really adds to the length of a post when you slap it in there a couple of times.

I will get rid of the sig when I get enough complaints, though i can understand your gripes if you have dialup. No problem with being a goldchainer, K+R, cause when it comes to models, you can never have enough. That is, if all the models look like carmen electra (bah-dum-ching!)

Well, if yer waiting on more votes to kill the sig, here's one more. That garish red & obscene size are just way too much. [IMG]

I have seen several others in various posts complaining about it too. I even recall a post where you said you'd get rid of it. A lot of us are still waiting...

Oh yeah, I don't get the onion either...

Do we need to start a petition?

While we are at it lets make sure to get rid of everyones signiture all together! Oh yah, lets not forget the motion avatars and linked avatars that are oversized. Don't forget to put a ban on large linked images so I don't have to use a scroll bar on the bottom of my browser window just to see all of the pictures. Finally lets get a tec post on how to crop images so you people don't post images with the annoying white space around the images!

Not to direct this at anyone but if his sig is the only thing that you have problems with then we are still in good shape. I never have had a problem with it causing the page to load slow. But I guess that I have DSL so I am one of the lucky ones. Just my $.05 worth.

Hey, crew, to get back to this identity crisis thing - its the mix of IFS/IRS with the clapped-out primered body. While Buttera is justly famous for his well crafted suspension parts and design concepts, I just don't think they go well with the body as you've done it, unless you're trying to be U.N.C.O.O.L.

Which, by the way, I like the chopped and primered body; I'd love to have a full-size version, only with a dropped straight axle up front and a plain old 8" rear or early Ford axle in back.

Remember, don't sniff the glue [IMG]

    Oh, okay, I see...
The suspension setup was all I had availiable, and the Lil John T is okay, But I wanted to build my own car, you dig? I would put a more traditional setup on it, but This is the best I could do. Plus, I didn't mean for the chop to be so bad. It's the first one I've ever done.

Ok, the onion as my avatar? That's because I thought people could draw their own conclusion about it. I will remove the sig today, too.

The U.N.C.O.O.L. post? Remember the show, the man from U.N.C.L.E.? Think about it.

    Okay, thanks fer the input!

The car frum U.N.C.O.O.L. is a play on words based on the...

    The man from U.N.C.L.E.

Uncle being Uncle Sam. It was a spy show that rode the coattails of James Bond, threw in a little bit of the comic book "Nick Fury and his agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and was eventually spoofed by the show "Get Smart" with Maxwell Smart.

Google turned up an episode guide.

Yes, I am a geek. Yes I collected comic books (Sargent Nick Fury and his howling commandos) and watched too much TV as a kid. What about it?

I've been wanting to buy that kit, $10 at wally world... but for some reason I just can't make myself do it. Probably has something to do with the 6 unfinished projects sitting in front of me now and the countless others sitting in boxes on the shelf. I'd just chop the shit out of that body though, snag everything else from the parts box.

Lil John Buttera used to build Funny Cars and Top Fuelers,
that T was his first street rod,
so the double rail chassis design reflects his racing tube chassis background.
Like so much of Lil John's stuff, that car was way ahead of it's time,
    SBF,power windows and seats,AC,independant suspension,etc.
    His workmanship is always flawless.

The model comes across as a mixed metaphor,
combining elements from different periods in an incongruous manner.

Basicly,a fancy high tech chassis originally intended to have fenders,
built as a "Rat Rod" highboy.
