348ci Crank???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by KATOE, Aug 9, 2008.

  1. Quick question.....Does anyone know if a crank from a 1958 348ci (pass.car) will fit my 1959-61 348(pass.car) block?...Ive searched the web and cant seem to find out what I need to know ....

  2. Should work, mains and rods are the same, check the counter weight size and be sure to re-balance it to your existing pistons and rods..

  3. yea, someone told me that stuff from a 58 wont fit on 59-61.....

  4. It will drop right in. All 348 cranks are also forged, so they are pretty tuff. The early 348's had no coolant jacketing around the spark plug areas in the heads, and are usually upgraded to later heads. And there are also early starter mounting issues, but thats about it.
