Well i have been fighting one problem after another, and finally seem to have them on the run. I built a fed 3 yrs ago, this and that got in the way, but I always knew the eng would be good , 283/302 chevy,pg one of the problems, 4 times gone into. tonight I had it all together in the dway. backed up ,pro brake. the hand brake held for a short hop. then trans brake and on the converter, wow what a lv. will have times this coming fri night at our t/t.
good times my friend ....good times...post up some pics... i remember the first time i did a 4800 transbrake launch... made that 9" tire car dance.... brandon
Good luck, Keep us posted. I have an altered that I'm working on. I need to pull the converter. It's way too lose. It has a 468 with a pg and 4:56 gears. It's on the high side chip just past the 1/8. So after the converter gets changed then the gears need swapped. It's been 6.27 @ 106 in the 1/8. with a 1.35 60'. It went 10.38 at 116 in the 1/4 just cruising under the limiter.
sat morn ,the morning after. the times are not what i wanted, but did prove the car. it goes straight, hooks well, and with 8 lbs in the tires,on the transbrake will carry the ft wheels. had them up about 2 ft,let off ,came down, back up when i hit the throttle again. got it in hi and every thing is ok. car is too small for me 6',205 lbs without suit. once inside it is comfortable. may have to put a larger cage on this winter. well on to bristol on sept 6th. if any of you are at the track come on by and say hello. there will be six southern slingshots. mine is the red and cream car.
