I am looking for a local place that I can pick up some hog ring pliers. Does anyone know of a place in Orange County, Ca that stocks them? I really dont want to have to order them online.

    Thanks

That was going to be my suggestion as well. They are after all actually produced and most commonly used for putting rings in hogs, and pigs, and sheep, and cows, etc. The rings themselves come in different sizes, depending on the animal they were intended for. Hogs just have a convenient size for upholstery work. Farm & Fleet is a strictly midwest store, while TSC is more wide spread.

The China surplus store(HF) has them.I got mine from a local upolstery shop.Oh and I recommend getting the angled ones, for me they're easier to use in the tighter spots.

McMaster-Carr, if they don't have it you don't need it.

I like the KD Tools Hog Ring Pliers 45 Degree (KDT3704). Sold at sears and most auto stores.
Do yourself a favor and get the spring loaded ones, keeps the ring from falling out, approx , one for =$17, two diff types for=$32 ....H

Even though you found them, for anyone else reading this thread, the local feed and livestock store will have them as well.

Yup, I bought mine (pliers & rings) locally from an outfit called Halford Hide, a butchers supply outfit.
