Was surfing thru the archives and found a couple posts on ripple pipes...interesting stuff. Anyone know what years these were popular or have pics of period ripple pipes? Thanks, Gary W.
Look at this stuff not quite the same but it could be kinda cool http://www.made-in-china.com/showro...eFnQlw/China-Exhaust-Flexible-Pipes-HYB-.html
1959-1962 they were popular... that pic I posted in my old ripple pipe thread was from a 1959 hot rod magazine. FENTON made lakes that ruled.
Yup, searched those threads...no period photos and no dates. I'm not asking about how to make the pipes or if the materials are available to make them...just wanting some history/primary source material. Crestliner, sent you a PM
I have a set of original 81" Fentons on my Ford.....This is the best pic I have of them on my car...the ad is from a 1959 issue of Hot Rod magazine..
PepBoys sells the cheap stuff, made by Superior. I can't find the part number, but it's on the HAMB or TJJ somewhere I'm sure.
i spied these at the leadsled spectacular a few weeks ago. i don't think the guy got any sleep that night worrying me and my buddy would jack his pipes!
I want some!! Same thing, been looking forever for some lake pipes or just ripple pipe period. Almost had a set on ebay but got sniped!!!
My buddy just got some on saturday from another friend. they are going on his 56 pontiac. They have a space in the middle thats not ribbed also. I was also wondering about that?? I would be worried about s****ing them on the curb etc.
I read that on the Jockey Journal the other day....that Pep Boys had a stock of ripple pipe...but the word is out and they're going fast. At least that's the rumor.
Dug mine out for the first time in probably 15 years. Thought they were short, but the're 2 peice. Old box is pretty bad, but pipes are good, just need a little polish.
