Just got ripped for $200 on eBay. Unfortunately, he closed his account shortly after the ill-fated auction ('50 Chevy parts). Wasn't sure if he was a member of this community...if so, I believe a little ex-communicating is in order, as I'm not the only he's hood-winked apparently (should've paid closer attention to his 60% feedback score). Here's the last contact info I had for him:

    Ray Warner
    3839 E US Hwy 80
    Mineola TX 75773

I know what you mean. Got ripped awhile back as well, now I won't bid on anything unless the seller has at least a 98% and then I still look at the feedback to find out why it's not 100. Freakin people can really **** sometimes

According to Google maps, he lives between Hawkins & Mineola in Wood County.

    I'd contact the Wood County Sherriff's office 903-763-2201 ddaugherty@co.wood.tx.us

Will look to see if I can't come up with a home telephone #

Trust me, I've already been dealing with eBay, but am not expecting much from them. Along with the ****ty feedback score and his username, "olskooliron", he didn't accept PayPal--and what's worse on my behalf, I ended up making a deal to purchase "extra" parts on top of the auction item (steering column along with the wheel), so even if eBay did anything, it'd only cover $80 of the $200. I'm pretty much set to forget it...at least until October when I head out to Fort Worth. Might just have to pay him a little visit.

Mineola, TX is a little North of Tyler, TX kind of between Shreveport, LA and Dallas, TX. Not far from Ft.Worth dude....

I think it is interesting eBay seems able to have such little liability in these matters. I understand buyer beware and so on, but from the looks of things it really doesn't appear when deals go sideways they try to advocate in an aggressive manner for their good customers, which I believe most of them are. It would be in their best interest to keep them happy. I tried to purchase a throttle linkage through ebay once and the whole thing was just screwy from minute one, the guy misrepresented his merchandise, etc. We've all heard the stories. I won't say I will never try ebay again. I am saying I won't do it unless I absolutely have to, which frankly I don't see happening with sources like the HAMB at my disposal.

Not saying that E-Bay/Paypal will not do anything... but when 50,000 people gang up on someone... well lets say things will get returned

Off topic, but regarding the tying to the bumper and dragging, that actually happended to a guy in my hometown after a bar fight. Obviously, the draggee didn't survive the experience.

Why? If I were anywhere near him, I wouldn't have posted this to begin with. Was mostly looking to see if anyone esle had gotten burned, as a few of his Feedback comments mirrored what had happened to me (possible HAMB members), thus finding out what they'd done.

Why would anyone buy from someone with a 60% positive feedback score?Reminds me of shooting yourself in the foot to prove the gun wasn't loaded.
