I bought my sedan in 1989. I am the 4th owner. It was built in Dearborn and had never been outside Dearborn until I brought it to Okla. Was a running model b. Paid the outlandish amount of $6700.00. ___________________________________________________________________ Like I told the kid, "Your music not too loud, it just sucks!"
first duece roadster, was at a dairy farm a roller, w body and fenders. gave up on it and sold it.$300[1956]. next was a 2dr smashed front fender and no motor or trans $75[.57'] then found a pheaton basket case with all the parts cept frame and running gear $75.
An old time Boilermaker I worked with years ago raced "jalopys" in the 50s in Iowa. Him and his partners only bought 32 to 34 Ford three windows. They would draw straws to see who would start the "build", first order of buisness - knock the headlights off with a baseball bat or a sledgehammer. John
very cool thread!! Laydrag's dad was telling us about all the 32s he had made into race cars just last night. Cabbage Pendley. Russ - you have to show this to your dad.

I recall a story of a guy here in the UK about six or seven years ago at an obscure swap and a guy was selling a decent 5w body. When he asked the price the guy said seven. He walked away to think about it, he thought it was worth about 5k and carried on shopping. As the place was starting to empty the guy was still there with the coupe body so he went over and offered him six. The guy said "this body ain't goin anywhere for less than seven hundred! I have never been that lucky but have had some very decent deals but that is because I have got them mostly from obscure places.
Here's was one way to beat the high price of '32's back in 1933, you just went out and stole one. This is a picture of Bonnie Parker (of Bonnie and Clyde fame) with her and Clyde Barrow's latest acquisition, a '32 V8 B-400 with dual side mounts. How's that for good taste in '32's
we went weeeee alot http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=253575&highlight=day+of+the+dirt&showall=1
I think if Bonnie Parker said'' how do I look?''NO matter what she looked like you'd say she looked GREAT!Hell she is kinda cute for a Psychopath!!!!!(Did I spell that right?)
I can remember my dad saying that he and 2 of his friends all pitched in and bought a '31 or '32 for $50, and pushed it off a cliff just to see it fall. Can you believe that crap?
I have a buddy in in eastern AK that has an original 32 vicki in his shed with the wood floors and all the sheetmetal waiting to be fixed up. A guy I work with offered to buy it from the guy for 12k and the guy in AK said 12K I can have a line around the barn with guys ready to buy it for that if I need to sell it and I dont need to sell it yet.
OMG! What is the world coming to? Man, Chris Unger is gonna pay the rent on those shops this month. I'm going to chain up all of my loose 3 W doors afer seeing this! Especially the window frames. Guys this is getting rediculous! How are the kids in the future going to be abe to afford these choice bods I'm glad Brookville is out there. @ least maybe they'll be able to finance one like a new car if they really want one. That $1250.00 tweaked complete chassis that I went and grabbed in West Denver a few years back now appears to be an even better deal than it was when I got it. I have to say though that other than any of the replacement sheetmetal that I bought for a 32, it was cheap compared to any of the 34 3W stuff that I bought. Priced a 34 lately? Even though 32's seem expensive, price a 34 grille. Tetanus Shot, Is that Gardena/Culver City or Ascot, looks a little too early to be a 1957 shot and that is when Ascot in Gardena openned its doors.
In 1973 i bought nice 3-w body no rust 500.00 missing parts deck lid - dash header pannel - i found all the parts to make a complete roller full fendered stocker. sold it because i found a mint black one in bakersfield ca. for 2500.oo I had to borrow the rest of the money from my brother. I still have the car today.
couple of 32`s in this one I see a 2 door and a 5 window. I`m ready for the next race http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3089506314953019742&hl=en
My dad's car: bought this 32 sedan back in the '75-'76 time frame for $1500. No rust, all steel, just some dents in the doors and stuff, and I remember him mopin' round the house before he buying it that it sure was a lot of money to spend on one. And I remember us looking at a few of them too. Then I remember us looking at several 40 Ford Coupes back in the early and mid '80s for prices like $800, $1500, and such. Didn't buy 'em either!
"A friend of mine bought a rust free, complete '32 5 window...It now has a '29 Chevy firewall, a Chevy dually roof, and a sunroof from a Mazda 626... threw the original firewall and fenders away because they had dents in them....tossed the original gas tank, and replaced it with a fuel cell." Your friend should go kick his own ass
Casey,I'm gonna bring this thread back up front for a guy that just bought my old roadster....... from the 50s .....Bubba67 up in N.J. Hope no one minds
