thanks guys, i really appreciate it. unfortunately a lot of the detail gets lost when i shrink it down for the post. thanks pacheco, i really dig the slingshot. i am not entering this one in the art show since its not a hamb car. i had the bug to do a gasser roadster.

Just finished this about an hour ago. Went back and fixed the front edge of the rear tire but I did not go back and scan it yet. I have been wanting to do this painting for quite some time.

L-O-V-E that! Glad to see that the past still lives on.

I had the honor of reproducing the lettering on the M-S 554 when Brizio restored it for Brian Burnett back in '85 (before it was bought by Jerry Moreland [I believe] and re-re-done). The latter version is the one yours is based on.

When I did it I had to work from 20+ year old tiny black & white or off-color images/magazine pics. Since we couldn't find a "Clay Smith Cams" text decal to go under the woodpecker I just painted it on (like in the 'Blood print).

A couple of early-on resto pics:

Bonneville tech opens in 2 days, so here's a couple of pics that I took in '05.

I think that they capture the feel of the event. Seeya out there!

  26. Looking real good man. So Todd, is that just marker and ink? What surface
are you working on? I may have to put some old marker work on some time; they're OT but I kinda like them.

Thanks jigger! Yeah, good ol' pen and ink and Prismacolor markers. I threw in a bit of acrylic white for some highlights. I used Crescent hot press medium weight board. Am now switching over to Strathmore Bristol board. Colors blend better and and stay a little more vibrant.
