I've been looking on the web for sources for interior parts for my 52 Chevy, and the closest I've come is CARSinc. and all they have is the seat covers and carpet. Can you guys help? I'm looking for window tracks, window regulators, dash trim, bumpers, weather stripping .... I have everything but its in pretty rough shape. Do the parts from a 53 interchange? Thanks
http://www.nationalchevy***oc.com/ this place has a pretty good amount of stuff to thumb thru. good luck. now give us an intro and show some pics of your car instead of asking for stuff. now damn it!!
Chevs of the 40's and National Chevy ***ociation is where I get most of mine. 52 and 53 are two completely different cars, so most interior stuff will not interchange.....but some ch***is stuff does. 49-52 are mostly the same, with 49-50 having the same dash, similar grilles and rear fenders, while the 51 and 52's have a different dash, similar grilles and rear fender shape.
Actually, the 51 and 52 have the same dash but your right the 53 is completely different. Try The Filling Station they have a lot of stuff too.
Ok! Ok! I get it, i forgot to properly introduce myself. My name is Jim, I grew up in Milwaukee in the shadows of County Stadium, Yes, HUGE Brewer fan, I had a few cool cars back in the day, and raced dirt stock cars in the 80's, had a couple of kids and traded the racing for a Harley. My wife and one of my kids also ride. we've been involved in go kart racing for the last 7 yrs. and my son still races nationally. I'm on the BOD and serve as Race Director for our local club in Dousman WI. I recently bought a 52 Chevy Deluxe that I'm hoping to sort of restore, more like the Chrome Czars HCPU stuff, than Chip Foose type stuff. I want the stuff like windows and doors to work and be the correct part for the car, but the rest is up for grabs. I hope to have a plan for it by the middle of sept. and maybe ready to drive by next summer Later
Old car parts in Portland Oregon. 503-771-9416 Acres of car parts and new stuff from the thirties to sixties. GM only, ask for Joe JR. If he doesnt have it he can direct you to Chevs, Dans cl***ics or other suppliers for the right parts. I dont know his 800 number, but I know he has one.
Guys part those out once in a while on eBay, too. That might be a better place for some of the hard parts. The window channels themselves, you could make, or replace with channel stock. They do tend to rust -
everything they do not reproduce will show up on ebay eventually but you need to search every couple of days. also when you see someone listing a bunch of 49 - 52 parts email them and ask if they have whatever it is you need. I've parted out a 51 and a 53 and was getting 3-5 emails a day from people looking for this part or that while I had listings for other parts going. you can also put a parts wanted ad in the cl***ified section here on the HAMB
Heres a link to the Car Shop catalog.....good luck... http://www.scribd.com/full/2253841?access_key=key-d1445qisr8waidusukh
www.patricksantiquecars.com and www.stoveboltengineco.com are good too, and stop by 50chevy.com and www.chevytalk.org for 49-54 info. Factory service manual is online at http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1949_53/index.htm
English was not one of my gooder subjects. LOL. I guess the way I wrote that sure sounded goofy. Thanks for making me make sense! Yes, what I meant was the 51's and 52's have the same dash, but it is a different one that the 49-50.....even though that is not what I said. LOL. Either way, I love 'em!
