History Vintage Hot Rod Shows....picture thread.

1972?? That bodystyle of Chevy/Gmc didnt exist 'till 73.

 

Here's a few from the early sixties when I had my just-finished deuce roadster on the show circuit. I didn't last to long since it was a daily driver and couldn't compete with the chrome, angel hair and rotating colored lights that defined show cars back then. A few years later at the same show I didn't even place (to much road grunge) but I had my revenge when I was the only hot rod to fire up and drive out past all the show rods loading onto their trailers.An early HAMB moment.

My next show, Starbird's 1960 wichita Show


My best showing, Judge's choice and best in Cl***, NHRA Tulsa Show Oct '60. It was all downhill after that.

man...it was great to see this photo! I dated his very beautiful daughter (Vicky) back in the 90's she used to show me all of his pic's from back in the day. I don't know how he came up with the name Gaylord his last name is lunny? he was a pretty cool guy and her mom was a sweetheart (can't remember if thats the right spelling of their last name)

 

Do you have any more? I'm looking for history on a 5 window Coupe that came out of the Tulsa area, the guy that owned it from 60-67 was Larry Leka.
Channelled, no Chop, Pontiac motor, track nose.

Not a car but some posters a good friend of mine used when he showed in the early 60's. He and his wife were just talking about the Angel Hair experence Everytime I open my sticker collection the smell takes me back to Blackies Autorama.....Skip how do you do it!
