I bought a Pinto engine and hit a few junkyards hunting a Volvo 16v head, but someone had pulled the cams out of the two I found. Also bought a 2300 C4 bellhousing that wasn't. Taking it back today.

I cleaned 1 of my 3 garages. I can actually have 5 cars in indoor storage now. I didn't do it because it was a mess...I just brought home another mess. I'm too excited to post it just yet. Over 20 years looking and finally found one.

Sold a project to someone else. Adjusted the valves on the 53 L8 3 times :(. Still idling like ****. Burned my wrist very well...that's what you get for adjusting L8 valves on a hot motor.

Stripped a 56 caddy air cleaner and the 53 air cleaner. Stripping firewall of the wagon and cleaning suspension parts, both getting ready for primer.

Listened to a lot of bad jokes about turning 50 as my birthday was Saturday. How is one supposed to feel when they turn 50? I feel one day older than 49.

Put the cooling system back in my 53. New water pump, water distribution tube, hoses, t-stat and flushed block and radiator. Once it was all back together and filled I let that thing idle for like 30 minutes. never moved above about 190 to 195 while sitting in the driveway. Drove it around a bunch after that.

Started hanging body parts for shimming and aligning. Maybe high build in the next month or so? We can hope.

Spent Friday night on an oil rig "Monitoring" their control system (it worked perfectly, so I watched my downloaded seasons of Law and Order).

Saturday, woke up at 5, got on a chopper at 8, flew in IFR (which is rather scary in a chopper, they don't take turbulence as well as a small plane), landed in Houma, got in my car and drove back to Texas. I then went to the bar.

Sunday, drove down to my parents to collect my dog, hung out with brother and family for a little, came home, cleaned the pig sty that is my house, walked across the street and got some beer. I also bought primer (alot of it), but was too busy to do anything remotely productive.

Hopefully I will have the car back from the frame shop next week to thrash upon.

Spent Saturday morning at the local U-pull-it harvesting a pair of '62 Tbird front fenders. And then spent Sunday cutting them up and using them to radius the rear wheel wells of my '61. It still needs some hammering (the p***enger's side donor fender was full of putty), but here are a few progress shots.

The last photo is a 'before' shot. I really disliked the square fender openings.

Hung some new hubcaps Saturday, then washed and waxed Sunday. Capped off with a little cruise.

First, I took the Ford out for a ride. Picked up points from a guy in the next town over. Came home and changed the points on the distributor. Started up like a champ. Then I had to dry out the interior. Still haven't got around to changing the weatherstripping and don't have a garage yet. It was a good day.

Had a heater under the front seat of my 51'. My buddy's dad that had one back in the day said they would roast you out of the car.

I wet sanded my dash and polished up the guages and started putting it back together. Mated my ****** up to the motor and then wrapped everything up for the frog choker of a storm that consumed the remainder of Saturday. "Enjoyed" some women's volleyball on the tube. :D

Played designated driver for 4 marines that hadn't seen each other in years, since their convoy was hit by a suicide bomber and took out a ton of guys.

It was satisfying for a civilian, no matter how you feel about what's going on, to help out someone who's lost a friend, or truckloads of friends.

Sorry, hopefully that's not too political: Was just a good excuse to push a couple hundred bucks worth of gas through the hot rod for a car load of guys who really appreciated it.

Realized that it's time to pull the motor for an oil pump change. The high volume was nice on the strip... but 80 psi on the highway and I was filling the valve covers and burning a ton through the breather.

Late Sunday night I finished polishing this Ch***is Engineering axle for a customer in Oregon. All of my polishing work is done with abrasives. The axle is in bare metal.

As you can see, I'm having trouble taking pictures of something that's reflective, and could use some suggestions on taking better pictures.
