Awesome Collection - A little OT, but way cool

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rustyford1, Aug 18, 2008.

  1. I know a lot of these cars don't fit the HAMB years, but this is the coolest thing we have going in NW Oklahoma. Brent Hajek has been racing and collecting cars for years and this is where he is now. Several years ago he purchased the school in Ames, Oklahoma after it closed down and opened his museum. This is the best use of a school I have ever seen! If you get a chance, look up Hajek Motorsports

  2. Man, not sure what happened on the text, but you get the picture.

Here is the rest of the pics. Warning: Not eveything is HAMB friendly, still way cool.

If anyone gets up to NW Oklahoma and wants to take a look for yourself, give me a shout. I have a car club buddy, that went to work for Brent a while back. He gets to take car of and clean these things all day. Must be rough

I think this may be one of those occasions when the rules get bent. That is an awesome collection of cars. Gas Ronda! Jungle Jim! How does anyone not think they belong here?

    Thanks for posting.

Other than that black late model sedan I didn't see much of anything that was O/T. Early NASCARS, historic drag racers, radical rare and one-off motors...WTF is O/T about that? Well, maybe the Glidden Probe is a tad of a stretch.

Get the kids back. Maybe they would want to actually show up at a school like that! I know I would.

I saw an article on Brent's collection in Hot Rod several years ago. Are the cars in the museum his, or do some belong to other people?

I love Hajek's stuff, used to run into him often years ago when my dad was drag racing bikes around the Midwest.

  19. I met Mr Haejk In Tulsa when we were showing our Shelbys. This cat has one of the most serious Ford and Muscle/Race car collections around>>>>.

  20. They are all his... he's nuts for this stuff. He has a few other cars, but they were on displays somewhere else. He also has a Mickey THompson car that he took to Bonneville.

As far as I am concerned this is about as on topic as it gets.
He has spent years collecting these and I'll bet even he didn't realize how much money these things would be worth. Can you imagine him saying to his wife, "see, I told you it was a good investment"
I wonder if that would work on my wife.

  24. Oh the wife knew. When they got divorced years ago, she took some of them. THey raced together for quite awhile before that.
