WANTED----pilot bushing/bearing

A buddy needs one to get his rod on the road,he,s running a 51' 303 olds w/a 56'hydro and cant find one anywhere any help appreciated

Why would you need a pilot bushing with an automatic transmission????

And ya better not get them confused either...
A torque converter converts torque, like Uncle Ben's converts rice, while a fluid coupler, well, that sounds a lot ***ier doesn't it?
Coupling fluids and all....
No wonder they coined the newer term for the same function but more developed "throw away" part.
Ya probably would get fined by the FCC for saying "Fluid Coupler" on the radio!

It doesn't wear a "flex plate" either....

 

never seen the back of a 51 crank but i can tell you that a chevy one is the right size for at least a 53-up.since i have a 53-55 61 cranks here.i belive the late olds(260-455) are different.wich is what confused me.since it is advertised most places that all major gm where the same.the late olds ones i would get at the store the o.d was too small.the inside diameter is the same for all,and the same as early olds.i measured everything also with a caliper.soo get one for like a 70's chevy 4 speed to be on the safe side.check out motormite.com for anymore info.i think that should bring you to a bunch of listings of sizes.later,
