I think my Seagrave project is taking a fun turn.

It is the same powerplant as the Blastolene Special. I plan on making enough mods to make it unique. I can't wait to go pick it up.

The intake/exhaust arrangement is ***ed backwards on this thing.

    Any ideas for cool intakes?

Anybody know if the cooling fans blow up or down?

uh...like it's not already unique to put a tank motor in an old firetruck?

  11. Gas or Diesel? Get a manual with it? Give me a Model No., like AVDS1790-2A or whatever and I'll see if we can round up a manual or two.

    Are you a U.S. citizen?

How about a 6-71 on each bank?
And for the exhaust, build the headers so they evenly space the firing order, for a nice bunch of spagetti on top of your engine...

    Cool find man!

  16. Flipper, that is NUTS!! Think of cubic inch (or H.P) per DOLLAR!!!

All I want is a SEAGRAVE V-12 ferchrissakes!

Some people will reccomend a 4-71 for a SBC on the street,a 6-71 for a BBC.
This thing is bigger than 4 average BBCs combined.

    Yes.

If you go to a larger rural fire truck convention, they often have compe***ions where two trucks square up at a line, drive approx 1/8 mile, stop, and race to see who can hook up to a hydrant first.

I'd guess that you plan on entering such compe***ions and winning.

Just a guess, but I'll bet it's because he's trying to get your actual T.O. type data that has releasability clauses attached to it. Although I doubt it would truly be applicable after all these years - there's a blanket 25yr waiver for most info - including cl***ified.

Basically the manuals are technical data for use by U.S. persons (essentially U.S. citizens), but if it's a g***er anything that might be around will be in the public domain though it's gonna be hard to find a manual as they were last made 30-40 years ago, but I'll see what I can do for ya. The AVDS stands for Air-cooled, V-12, Diesel, Supercharged, although they are really turbos on the diesels. Send me a PM when you know the model no. and I'll see what I can do. Used to work for the old Continental Motors and still have an "in" or two.
