Big Olds was in primer for 4 years with Grundy and not once did they ever mention to me him being a "project" or that I had a timeline to paint him. They never once asked for an interior shot or a shot of the top or windows. As I progressed I just asked for the agreed value to be increased and they never said no. Once he was "completed" I sent them an email with the new interior and a shot with the top up plus I listed all the new stuff that brought the value up AND I increased the value again. That was in Dec I think. This past May, when my premiums were due, they increased my agreed value about 5% I think it was, stating that the value of MY car had increased. I didn't argue, I paid a couple dollars more for thousands of extra dollars in coverage.

Folks might be surprised on how inexpensive complete speciality insurance is compared to just normal, PL/PD on the same car. I just did a quick online quote with Grundy for a 1951 Chevy truck with a $25,000 agreed value.....$213.42 per year for 12 months of full coverage.

Wow looks like I need to hit Grundy up. I have specialty insurance on my Chevy and have used them for years even on other cars, but they wouldn't touch my Merc.
I'm sorry if I came off negative to you in any way that was not my intention. Keith is a really good friend of mine and seeing the other posts of people beating a dead horse kind of got to me.

P.S. Big Olds is beautiful. I have a soft spot for any Oldsmobile anyway..

Dont blast with a silica based product, its VERY bad for your health! Even with a respirator, you dont want to blow that stuff into the air. Go with a media thats approved for media blasting, and is silica free.
