well hooley called and he reset his land speed record from 236 to 249.945 in the "just glad to be here" orange 53 studebaker #974 car. Congrats to hooley and crew chief john wz junk and sumner for the great news hell yea.........
Finally, some news of speeds and records! Like that car, glad they boosted the record. Two liners crashed yesterday, nobody was hurt, still would like to know how other cars are doing.
I talked to that guy, super nice guy and what a super friendly crew...Congrats to the driver and crew.
I was lucky to spend Monday with Hooley...he is an awsome guy and very patient with others..he deserved it ...thanks Hooley
And you should be able to congratulate him person this weekend at the HAMB drags too. From what I understand, he's making it back home in time to unload and reload the Henry J for Sat. He'll be the one with the orange Henry J and should be parked with the rest of our group, the Central State G***ers ***oc.
For any of you who haven't seen the stude, they plan to have it at the HAMB Drags. They stayed last night in Santa Rosa and plan to be home tonight. I think Hooley is going to run his Henry J at the drags. Sam
Hooley is one of the best... Set a record on the salt... loaded up headed home and grabbed the Henry J and made it to the HAMB Drags too. His truck was leaving Bonneville salt in a Kansas cornfield. Talk about a dedicated racer. Congrats Hooley and crew
Congrats on the 248mph record..........and Hooley has a "fan club".......I could not believe the people that were shooting pix of his start. Chris Nelson Kansas
