    What's happenin' folks....

I need some help. I've done some searching but haven't found what I need....

A month or so ago, I picked up a '26 Model T coupe. It needs to have some issues addressed before I get it on the road....one is the front suspension. It was recommended to me by the original builder (built in the early to mid 80's) that I go over the front end really good before driving it. The weld seems have all been smoothed over with bondo so I can't see what anything really looks like. From what I've seen of some of the other welds on the car, I don't trust the front end, so..... I want to change my front axle. I plan to go with a spring behind setup but would like to keep the spindle/brake setup that I have.

Can anyone id these spindles? ....and a picture of the car too

    Thanks!!

    Looks like Ford F-1 pickup?

*Edit* This is F-1....but it only has the bolt on arm on the driver's side spindle...

    Could be F100 too...

I like that car. Looks TOUGH.
Theres just something about it that makes it all work together...other than the valvecovers and maybe the air breather.
I could see a guy having fun with that!

    GOOD catch! :D

My guess would be Econoline. No mater, I think you made a wise choice to redo the front end. If the welds else where look marginal, I would think the ones under the bondo would be the same. Check the king pin dia. when you take it apart. That'll be the best way to findout what the new axle has to have.

    Thanks guys!!

What is the diameter of the Econo king pin....? Maybe a list of the different diameters...? I'm sure I could look them up and will if I have to but since I'm here typing anyhow....:)

Not sure on the color. The car was originally ***led as a homemade car in '84 and has been at least one other color (yellow). As far as I know, the guy I got the car from never painted it. He bought it in the mid 90's. I was told by someone that knows the original builder that it was Imron.......that's all I know about it.

I agree about the valve covers......I hate them. Never liked that style. I do, however, like the *****in' Cadillac style air cleaner. It may not work well on this particular car but I do like it.:)

There's lots I'd like to do with it but I'm not exactly sure how I want to go about it. It need completely re-wired (no fuse panel) and wires pieced together. The body really doesn't look all that bad......it needs some attention though. Then there's the ch***is/suspension. Lots of work to be done there and I really know nothing about it......I guess it's time to learn. That's where the majority of my attention will be focused.

The radiator took a dump so right now I'm trying to figure out what I need to get that taken care of.

Again, thanks for your help and compliments (I'm sure there'll be more questions to come).

Check the Superior Radiators on the bay under 'T buckets. We run then on our T's and they seem to be working well. Most of the time they end at around $225 to $275.

I need to get some detailed shots of the car before I tear into it. Maybe I'll do that today.
