I've got a '53 Chevy Belair that's been converted to 12 volts by previous owner years ago. It turns over, though not firing up. I could put points in, but would rather run the Pertronix. Anyone know the PN for a Pertronix that would fit the 12 volt conversion?

I have one laying around that I pulled out of my wagon before I gave the six away. It's never been run, just put the motor together, then changed direction.

    1941 - 53 use part #1167 for 12v neg ground. 1954 - 62 use 1168. Only exception is delco dist # 1112314 which won't work.

A few years ago I called Pertronix on this same application. They had me send them my dizzy and they figured out which unit to use so there definately is a unit that works - good people.

  7. Really dumb question here but what is a "dizzy"? Thanks Specs
