I was referred to your forum to help me identify this car we have in our shop. No idea what it is or any of the history behind it. Any ideas? Email me at Joe @ MichiganCl***ics.com if you have any leads or information. Thanks in advance
Lots of Ford parts from different years. Front fenders look like they were patterened after Brewster or Jensen bodied Fords.
I believe the dash is late '30s Lincoln Zephyr. Given the long wheelbase (and the shape of the deck), I think it might have started out as a Lincoln.
Front wheels look like '35 Ford, the steering wheel looks like it's from a Citroen with the single bar. Dual chamber master cylinder hints at this car being driven in the last 30 years, although the rest of the build doesn't utilize anything near that new. It's a very interesting custom for sure, I'd love to find out more about it.
This thing has come up before, along with a ridiculous price tag. If I remember right, no history was behind it that anyone knew of, but good luck in your search!
Thanks. Any link or links to past discussions about this car? What I think we know so far as a result of the internet: Front Grille: 1936 Ford Front Fenders: 1936 Ford? Dash: 1937 Lincoln Zephyr Speedo: 1949 Chevy? Front wheels: 1935 Ford? Rear sheet metal: 1939 Lincoln Zephyr
I would agree on the late 30's zephyr. The inner fenders are definately zephyr. And if I'm not mistaken the dash is zephyr minus the center section.
This is supposed to be a 1937 Zephyr dash in this picture - looks just like the dash in the car I posted.
to tell u the truth i have no clue what it is but there is alot of ford parts on it try looking for a vin number or tag or somthin like that but i think the most important question is what are you gonna do with it
Shorten/Cut out 2 feet behind the front seat area and get rid of the rear seat and the car could have possibilites. Car is way too long.
Cable brakes suggest '37-8 period...do some poking around, naybe bead blasting, on ch***is in general neighborhood of steering. Look for an "H" or "18"...
That car wasn't too long for someone at one point in time Thanks for the tips thus far - it is appreciated
I thought the speedo was '49 to '51 Ford also. Until I saw the turn signal arrows at the bottom. Later model Ford probably.
A member of another forum posted this picure of a 49/50 ford speedo, looks just like the one in this car.
