That thing is COOL. I never even heard of a cad that looks like a vista cruiser and aint a hearse or an ambulance.
I don't see why he would bother...you would probally just blow up the fucking motor............ Hey, Brain. You'd be proud..I'm shootin some big assed metal flake in the morning..wish me luck and I'll see you homos at the Drags. -Abone.
yea there were not that many built i odnt know if it were 5 but it wasntr much more then that. i ran across a guy with one a few years ago he didnt know much about it other then it was rare. i dont how or what u had to be to order one of them from g.m but i think there sweet as hell, allways wanted one my self. Bryan
They were made at the same place that did most of the ambulance, hearse and flower car conversions, according to a Caddy Crazy buddy of mine...they did a few regular wagons to test the market, or so I'm told.
They weren't factory. They were usually Cadillacs with Olds wagon bits welded on. I've seen a '75, but I forget who built them. The key is the 'C' pillar, it's almost always a trapezoid, whereas the factory wagons were always rectangular. Look under the hood on the firewall for the builders tag. And don't be surprised if you find that the builder also built hearses and ambulance, for they know the business that well. Cosmo
Hack, they used to build those right off of 13 mile, the building right next to the RR tracks across from where Froggies must be. they converted Caddys into wagons and pick-ups. some even had the fake woodgrain. I can't remember seeing them out front past 73-74.
the guy said he paid 18,000 for this car in 1970 and still has the original title... has like 40,000 and some odd miles on it.... inside and out are excelent shape... anyone got any idea what this car would be worth????? and yep it looks just like the car in the pic......
There was one at the Seattle Roadster show a couple of months ago,the guy said they were used basically as funeral procession cars.
Hey Speed,If your Dad don't want it fire me a e-mail I would probably be interested.By the way do you know any of that ornery Wright bunch from up there?
There was a Cadillac wagon available a couple years ago at a local swap meet. The owner claimed it had once belonged to Dean Martin, and was purchased to haul his friends around Los Vegas. I think the price on the car was $12,000. I've no idea if it sold.
i would realy love to have this car but the guy wont price it even though he does want to sell it.... it kinda pisses me off that he wont price it....
I saw a black/red leather one online that Sammy Davis Junior used to own at a place that sold classic cars. I think they wanted $9,000 for it in stock unrestored condition. Don't ask me the name of the place because I don't have the foggiest idea what it is anymore.
The old Lazerus Auto Museum (and old car sales emporium!) had two different ones in the 80s. Both wer four doors. It was a long time ago, but they may have been a '75 and a '72. The earlier car was of much better quality, so GM may have used different vendors for the conversion. I have seen two other ones drivong around in the last 25 years. One near Hillsdale,MI the othe in Chicago. They are rare, but if I've seen four of 'em they gotta be more common than the sellers want you to beleive.
I saw one once just like the one in Muttley's picture in Port Clinton, OH. didnt have time to stop and see it, but i thought it strange. don't see any mention of them in the Standard Catalog, either. pretty cool. dan
Elvis had one!! It was gold, a later one, I think, maybe a 75 or so. It used what looked like a 98 Olds roofline and tailgate, with the rest of the Caddy bodywork done. It looked like a factory build, not an add-on like the one above.
