Hello, I'm looking for a GOOD body shop in the Chicago area. I want to paint my car and flake it. Also I need to get get some minor body work done. Please let me know if there is someone you have used and were happy with.I tried Hotrod/cycle in Addison but no one called back. Thanks for your time.
I can tell you right now kevin @ hot rod chassie and cycle is vary busy and vary short handed. thay dont do paint work anyways.
I have seen some killer paint jobs come out of mid west hotrods in plainfield IL also I think miss metals boyfriend is a painter with some great talent

yeah thats justin with one shot kustoms he does some awesome flake work, hes in Channahon right offa 55 i dont have his number with me but i got one of his cards at my house.. so i cat get it to you if your interested
The shop that does the paint work for Kevin is.. The Paint Spot 904 Westwood Addison, Il. 60101 Phone; 630-543-7111 They do some of the best custom paint in the country, from show cars to race cars from restorations to cycles. Their service also includes fabrication, body work, airbrushing and they have one of the best pinstripers around. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.
When did you call? Beth is really good about returning calls. Did you leave a message? Yep, we use the Paint Spot. Marty and Sons does great work as well. I just saw Justin's (Mr Metal? They are married now.) new paint job. It looks pretty sweet too. So you have lots of options.
This is my first posting here, and have beed reading this thread with interest. I too, am in need of a decent body shop in the Chicago area. All that I'm looking for is a shop that is willing to do a small job...shoot the top jet black. My 56 is currently Garnet Red. My motor will be back from the shop soon...once installed I'm hoping that someone will be able to squeeze me in. I live in Palatine and have been looking in the NW burbs. Here's the only good shot of my 56....the motor before I took it out for a rebuild. It's a small wheel car that is a work in progress. I'm slamming the car a bit and hoping that between the new stance and paint, that I'll feel more energized about the project.
Check out Phil or Nick at Danrr Auto Body in Fox River Grove. They're right off Rte. 14 on Rte. 22 across from the Hardware store. They're car guys and do nice work for what your looking for. Joel
Many thanks for the quick reply. I fired off an email to them this morning telling my story. It appears that they're about 12 miles away, so that's a good thing. Hopefully they are the solution to my short and longer-term needs. At some point in the future I'll have to address the bondo in the driver's side quarter that is unnoticable to most. However, I know it's there and once time and money permits, it HAS TO GO! Thanks again!!! Love this site...... Ken
Marty's does great body and paint work, especially with flake... if you can talk Jerry into doing another flake job! Justin in Channahon does great paint, too
Thanks All for your info. I just got of the phone with Justin and he will get started in 3-4 weeks. Also Big Thanks to Alex Gambino for all the good words. I'm looking forward to getting started.
