Are there any numbers on the frames? If so, where? I'm parting one out and want to save that section.
Don't think so, my brother switched out frame and bodies on a couple of trucks after finding a better body and having the frame done, so don't remember there being any frame numbers. Rodshop
They have the vin number on the frame........drivers side on the top flange about 15 -20 inches back from the front bumper.......
It might be different between the '48-'50 models and the '51/'52 models. My '49 F1 has VIN numbers on a plate on the firewall, a plate on the inside of the glovebox door, and stamped into the frame on the p***enger side of the engine compartment.
Have a 48 F-1 frame behind my shop and it's stamped on the right (p***enger) side frame rail near the front motor mount Hope this helps.
I got a 48 mercury and a 49 ford the VIN is stamped on the top of the frame right by the steering box
Thanks everyone, frame has surface rust all over, so I'll just run a wirebrush in the areas suggested. I took the cab, bed and front clip off and they are going on an S-10 frame, just want to make sure the guy that's buying it has all the parts he needs to ***le it. Anybody local want the rear end? all 4 springs?
