I found this today messin around on google. What a cool site. I grew up in Austin, TX. I migrated up here to east of tulsa. I just recently got into hot rods. When I bought my house I made friends with a 70 year old man down the road. He is a die hard mopar man and a life long mechanic. He sold me my current 71 valiant. It had been sitting on his property with a blown slant 6 motor for 6-7 years. He told me " 50 bucks and its yours". I had vision of hot rodding it. Well a year and a half later. It was done. We built a 360 for it. Edelbrock air-gap intake and carter 625cfm carb. Elgin 480/480 cam, headers, etc. He sold me a 8 3/4 rear end he had. I bought a 3rd member with 4:30 gears and posi. The only thing we dident do was rebuild the 727. I had a guy in town do it. Little shift kit and a 2600 stall converter. I've been to the to the track with it once so far. It ran a 13.5 on street tires spinning through first gear. But dont worry I got some used 28x10.5 slicks for it It has been an experience. My wife almost killed me for being out in the garage for 1 and a half! but it was worth it, Fun stuff. I would have never been able to do it with out my buddy. The good part is that I live real close to mokan. I am going to do my best to go up there and join in the fun at the H.A.M.B drag nationals! Edit: Here's pic of the car. You like my spray paint , paint job! I even taped it off and did two tone.
